Hi

I have a Juwel Vision 260. I want to put a 3d background in but the bracing bar means id have to cut it in half.

Is it possible to remove the top section of the tank that includes the bracing bar and the top trim, and replace i after.

I dont know how its fixed on, and wonder if its been done before.

Many thanks

Surely it'd be easier to cute the background in 2, then reattatch inside?

I believe that is not possible. Without the brace - and if this even cracks - the tank will start to bow. Though Juwel says this is not a problem, I'd very very scared about the possibility. To the best of my knowledge other Juwel tank owners with 3D backgrounds haven't removed their whole brace.

See this thread for info about Juwel Brace cracks.

yea the center brace holds the sides together so u dont want to be removing that.

there was a guy on here a few weeks back whos center brace had cracked and his tank was slowly falling apart.

cant be fun.

With a quarter of a tonne of water in there I don't think a 3d background is worth the risk. Can't you just use some real rocks?

is the brace stopping you from actually getting the sections of background in at all? if yes forget it, the top sections on most modern juwels (like my rio 180) are one moulded piece i.e. the brace doesn't come off. if you can get the pieces in and the brace is stopping you attaching them flush to the back, can you not simply cut a square section off the top of each background section so it fits around the brace?
