Got my 2nd hand Rio 180 all set up but my heater is heating the water too much. Currently it is 31.5 degrees.

If you look at the dial from above I can see the (+) at 9 oclock and the (-) at 3oclock. I can move the dial all the way to the (+) but not even halfway to the (-) not quite to 6 oclock.

Is this normal?

Many thanks

I have a juwel heater and its well trial and error!!

mine does move to both - and + though!!

get a heater that actulay gives you a rough idea on what your setting it at, thats what i did

Best swapping the heater to a make/model that gives you much more of a visual control. I had to swap mine also due to these reasons

Yep, got a new one today (the same make Juwel 200w).

Has a temp dial on it and the tank is now settling at 27-28 degrees. Should be ok to put the fish in soon :hyper:

Just need the sand to clear a bit more.
