Does anyone know if it is possible (and if so, then how?) to reduce the flow though my Juwel filter unit? The water gets ejected at quite a rate and this, in turn, makes any plant plants etc. continually move around in the water body, thus making the water look 'cloudy' to some extent.

Need name of the tank.

Wow I find that quite remarkable and unusual for Juwel - their filters are genrally extremely gentle. Are you using the nozzle (I don't mean the venturi), and if so, how do you have the nozzle directed ?

It's the Juwel Vision 180 and the 'nozzle' (if you mean the over-priced bit of black plastic tube!) is attached, yes. I've had it in all directions with little difference; it is currently facing towards the back of the tank so that much of the outgoing force is directed at the glass.

The fish don't seem to mind - in fact, many of them seem to enjoy swimming against a strong current as they do it time and time again. I guess it is a natural thing for them to do.

It's also one of the newest releases. I have the new dark-tank wood, and the shop where I bought it from has said that Juwel have very recently upgraded the power of their filters and this is the side-effect.

I could do my washing in there...

Jason -

Had the same problem. Whip some cotton thread onto the end of the slit in the nozzle and bung some of that blue large porus filter material in. Then just put in as much as you need. Just becareful you dont damped it down to much.

Other than that, go for a lower grade pump head.
