Juwel Cichlid Ate Little Lab!

Ok, any reason why this happend? Its in my dads tank, noticed a few different malawi cichlids where getting nipped, there is 1 m and 1 f juwel, we looked today and saw the male zooming around with 3/4 of the lab with no head in his mouth he was eating it!

Are you sure the lab didn't die and then the jewel was eating the dead fish?

Labs and Jewels aren't really compatible fish and if the Jewels have paired up then your problems are only going to get worse.

What size tank do you have them in?

Almost any fish will eat fry if they are available, even herbivores.
