Do you guys think this is a good deal, for all filter sponges for a Juwel tank?? I think so, and have ordered some through e-bay... I have priced them up individually, and they work out much dearer...i have posted the link :D

Claire,

I haven't used the carbon sponge in mine, think I used another fine filter, whichever one you are supposed to put one of in. I didn't use it because I read it can take out minerals that plants like. So based on this if you dont use the carbon one then you could buy the other filters for about £10.50, so not a bargain, but if you are going to use the carbon which I saw for about £3.50 then poss ok.

Cheers,

Keith

I only ever use carbon in my Juwel aquariums to remove medications, I didnt know it could harm live plants (which I have in all my tanks) but once the tank is cycled you dont really need it.

Only use the normal coarse and fine blue sponges. No need at all for the Carbon and you while your tank is cycling, you shouldn't use the nitrate removal sponge. In fact, you just shouldn't ever use it - just keep on top of regular water changes once your tank is up and running :)
