Hi There,

I have a established african cichlid juwel 350 corner tank set up.

I am currently running a eheim 2026 external filter as well as the standard juwel internal.

But i am fed up the maintanace of the internal one, its so annoying and hard to get to! Im not bothered about the filter staying in there, as in an empty box, as it hides the heater and my eheim pipes, can i remove the juwel pump and all the sponges? As i would like to add another eheim filter.

So can i keep the juwel internal filter box but with no pump or sponges in and have both eeheim intake pipes and heater in?

Thanks

George

I can't see why not........ but why not remove the box as this will make more room in the tank!

Hi mate I am having a similar sort of dilema with my 350 as well there is no problem what so ever in having no power head and sponges in as it will just be an empty box, this is how I first had mine set now I have my external filter pipe in the tank and the return in to the filter box but I put the sponges back in so that it double filtters the problem I am having is someone told me that the fillter box is siliconed on becase I want to remove it completely but dont want to risk just pulling it off in case it puts stress on the tank and cracks. It does look as if it is just rubber suckers holding the fillter box on if you look down the back but i dont want to risk it do you know how they are held on? if so could you let me know. cheers hope this helps you a little bit.
