Hi and welcome to the forum :)

What are the tank dimensions (length x width x height)?
The 2 images show an 80cm tank and an 80 inch tank.

Don't get dwarf gouramis (Trichogaster/ Colisa lalius) or any of their colour forms because they are riddled with diseases that can't be treated.

What is the GH (general hardness) and pH of your water supply. This information can usually be obtained from your water supply company's website or by telephoning them. If they can't help you, take a glass full of tap water to the local pet shop and get them to test it for you. Write the results down (in numbers) when they do the tests. And ask them what the results are in (eg: ppm, dGH, or something else).

Livebearers (guppies, platies, swordtails, mollies) naturally occur in water with a pH above 7.0 and a GH above 200ppm for guppies, platies & swordtails, and above 250ppm for mollies.

The other fishes you have listed come from soft water with a pH below 7.0 and a GH below 150ppm.

While we're waiting for the data Colin asked for, there are a couple of general observations.

First, you cannot use fish size or length (as that first stocking does) to determine stocking levels. The second site is somewhat more reliable but it is far from fully reliable too. The reason for both is because fish mass to water volume is only one factor and not the most important.

The number of fish a given aquarium can safely accommodate depends upon several important factors:
  • tank size, both dimensions and volume as these are two different things to the fish;
  • fish species--shoaling species must have a group;
  • water parameters--these are GH, KH, pH and temperature and must be the same for all species;
  • aquascape--the tank must provide what the fish species "expect;"
  • behaviour/aggressiveness of the individual species must obviously be compatible;
  • water flow from the filter must suit the species;
  • light;
  • plants.
When any of the above factors are not suited to the fish, their impact on the biological system is increased. But provide all of these and the species will be truly compatible and more will often be possible.

Firstly I agree with both of the above

Just a thought, assuming your water is suitable. Your proposed stock has 8 danios and you currently have 8 danios, so I assume you are thinking of adding the tetras. There is no reason to avoid mixing S. American and Asian fish but danios are shoaling fish and do better in much larger groups. Their behaviour is completely different and much more interesting if you do have larger groups. So if it were my tank I would get more danios and leave out the tetras. Similarly 10 corys will be much better than 5. If your water is suitable for danios, corys (and tetra) its probably not suitable for guppies anyway as @Colin_T suggests.

I always used to aim for variety of species because I thought that would be more interesting. Since I have seen how the behaviour changes when you have large groups I have gone for much bigger groups of fewer species, and IMO my tanks are much more interesting because of that.

Here is my tank I see why the stocking level was different as Colin pointed out it says 80 inches. My water pH is 7.4 and my GH is 170 internal filter, led lights, air pump. Temp 25.5 Only reason for the mix of Tetra and danio is because my danio like to stay at top mostly and come down when they want. Tetra would be my mid fish and the dwarf gourami as pretty fish with cories providing a cute bottom crew. Partner loves guppies and nearly every website said they would be all compatible yeah I completely understand the whole more danio I had 4 at first cause pets at home sold it sets of four and wanted levels to go to 0 before adding the other 4 and as soon as I got all 8 danio they were completely different. Also I am getting java fern to attach to my piece of wood behind submarine thank you for everyone's responses knowledge is the key to healthy happy fish ☺️☺️☺️

Most gouramis are surface dwelling fishes and only sit near the bottom when stressed and don't have enough surface cover. Water Sprite (Ceratopteris thalictroides/ cornuta) is a good plant to have for gouramis. It grows on the surface but can also be planted in the substrate.

Guppies could be stressed by a group of danios racing around them all the time. Sometimes they are ok but sometimes they are not. If you get guppies, quarantine them for a month and treat them for gill flukes and intestinal worms. You can use Praziquantel for the gill flukes and tapeworm, and Levamisole for the other types of intestinal worms. If these medications are not available, look for Flubendazole.
