Fish Fanatic
Hello! I am, at least I like to think, a "moderately experienced" aquarist. I am interested in any and every type of animal, fish included but I love love LOVE betta. The fish in my avatar picture is my all time favorite, "Mr. Blue" he WAS a blue butterfly halfmoon but he had the unfortunate experience of getting his fins shredded one time and when they grew back, they were all blue. He was in my 20 gallon with a large group of breeding Endlers, and his job was fry control. Never had to worry about culling with that handsome guy around. When he died after 3 wonderful years, I replaced him with a really pretty red and white plakat, who was terrible at fry control so he was given to a friend. Shortly after I found a blue butterfly HM that looked just like Mr. Blue and I instantly fell in love, his name is "Little Blue" even though he's bigger than his predecessor!
I also have a 4 year old red crowntail named Hugo. Hugo is my little pride and joy. He follows my finger all around the tank, loves to eat out of my fingers, and knows several "tricks" like swimming through hoops and tunnels. I loved Hugo and Mr. Blue so much that I got my very first tattoo this summer and it is of the two of them! I've had several betta over the years but those two are definitely my favorite.
Just recently I got a 25 gallon tank and put 3 baby angelfish in it. I used to have a 55 with 4 adult angels and missed them terribly and when the LFS got platinum angelfish in, I couldn't resist and had to set up a new tank. I was only going to get two but they were so tiny and I already have a home lined up for the 3rd one once they grow up.
Along with fish I also have three Border Collies, a bengal cat, a few crested geckos, a cockatiel, some frogs, and my wonderful baby Hermann's tortoise, Carl.
Anyways, I feel like I just typed a novel but basically, I LOVE FISH. Thank you and I will probably be asking a lot of really odd questions in the future!

I lost him and the rest of my fish when my big tank started leaking and I came home from work to a flooded basement and an empty fish tank
