There! ;0)
Just the normal stocking question! I have had a 10gal tank set up and is now ready to hold some fishes! I don't know what to get though! I was thinking about another betta but I already have loads of betta tanks and I wanted something a bit different this time. The tank is lighted, heated etc etc :) and it is planted and has bogwood.
Any suggestions guys?

5 or 6 cories :D

10 neon tetras?

anything else you had in mind?

DD

No I didn't really have anything in mind - I think I'll go with neons, they're pretty. What type of cories did you mean? :D

I like my 2 peppered cories, they seem fine in my relatievly small tank. You can watch them the longest as they sift through the sand endlessly in the evening.

What are pigmy cories like? They look cute. How about a couple of them? :)
6 or 7 as they love to be in groups

instead of corys why not go for dwarf loaches (Botia sidthimunki) they only reach 6-9 cm and you can have 5 minimum.

Heavily planted- how about 2-3 dwarf puffers?
Sand substrate- cave or two. Would look awesome! And they're so cute!

You could try something more unusual like some killies or shell-dwelling cichlids. Or, if you like bettas, try some honey gouramies (well they're related :p). Then there's rams and some other small cichlids you could keep, livebearers like platies, guppies or mosquito fish would work. But there's plenty of more unusual types - enler's, limias, halfbeaks and some of the smaller wild swordtails. A school of almost any small tetra, rasbora or even some of the less active, small barbs - maybe golden dwarf barbs - would also work. Some of the very small danios and microrasboras would also do well. Pygmy cories are great but aren't realy bottom-dwelling fish as they preffer the middle layers. Otos and american-flag fish are good algae eaters for smaller tanks (otos are better but need to be in a small group and can be fragile). Then there's thick-lipped, dwarf and banded gouramies - you could keep one of any of these. Sparkling gouramies would also work - a small group of 4 with maybe a couple of otos. Some khulie loaches, GOLDEN zebra loaches or dwarf loaches would also work but you could only keep about 3 of the biggest (khulies). There's a lot of choice out there.
