Hello everybody

I have been given an elite 60 litre fish tank and equipment as a christmas present and am looking forward to getting everything set up but have a couple of questions.

i have had a look at my local fish stockist and notice that they sell water for tropical fish tanks is this a better way to start than tap water ?

Is it better to have real or fake plants ?

And one last thing the info book i got with the tank suggests doing a cycle using a couple of hardy fish but have read on here about fishless cycle which is best ?

If anyone can help with these question i would be greatful

Clem

Water has nothing beneficial for your tank, just another money making ploy from your Lfs
Read the link above, lots of useful info there.
Any questions, just ask, everyone here is very helpful.
Real plants I think are best, but you could have a mix of real & fake

Yeah. I have both real and fake plants.. I fell into the trap of my LFS selling me things i didn't need..

We all do that at the start, I have loads of fake plants & ornaments sitting in my shed
