Just Starting Out...where Do I Start?

I'm just getting into the idea of looking after some freshwater fish(the easiest to look after as i understand), i have no idea where to start or anything about them at the moment. Complete newbie!

I'm just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction of where i can start, and any good online material or videos to get me to grips with everything i need?

I'd just like to learn all about the different options before i get stuck in and get going on my buying spree.
