Hi there people I am a tropical fish begginner I started looking after fish just about 6 months ago and it is all doing great I just need some help with fungi problems and how to stop evaporation please if you can give me the best advice you can for and I will be much appreciated thank you.

I don't know much about fungus and diseases (been very lucky so far and haven't needed to learn about them, knock on wood) but I'm sure if you post your problem in the Emergency or Chit Chat section someone will help you.

As for the evaporation, usually the more openings there are in your hood, the more evaporation you will get. The holes for the filter, heater, etc to go in should be as small as possible. Not only does that reduce evaporation but it also gives the fish less places to jump out and trust me, they can sometimes find even the tiniest hole to jump through (totally by accident I'm sure but it still results in a lost fish).
