Hi there.... Ive read other threads and learned quite alot...and some surfing has helped 2..but i guess i just have some specific questions about the tank i have...Hope i can get them answered

I want to add 2 Amazon sword plants to my 65 gallon tank..I have 2 40 watt florescent tubes... ( aquaglow and a powerglow )..

1. Wll they be ok in my gravel substrate...ive read some say there ok...some say they need sand.

2. Whats the proper way to plant them when first introduced to the tank.

thnx for any help :p

They do not need sand, they'll grow quite ell in ordinary gravel. What you might consider doing is placing a root tab under each as Swords are heavy substrate feeders.

When you look at the plant, there is an obvious level at which to plant it, you want the roots under the substrate but not the crown.

If you haven't already done so, get some reflectors for your lamps, your light is a little low.
