Just let your filter run and in a couple of hours the water should be clearer. It is normal to see cloudiness in the first couple of days.

i only got external filters for my other tanks and i dnt wanna buy any more
what if i use the aqua flow 1 filter that came with the tank will that take long to clear

the cloudy water has cleared (95% of it)
but i woke up at 7.00 am today and the water is a murky brown
y is this

Have you got:

Some drift wood / bog wood or mopani (wood) in there?
What sort of substrate?

Andy

in there i have tetraplant substrate and ontop i have black gravel and i have 1 peice of bogwood not mopani wood
i soaked the bogwood in water for 1 month changing the water every week.
and i washed gravel but not the substrate

Substrate should be OK....

My money is on the bogwood leaching tannins still. What do you think?

Temporarily adding carbon to the filter (not normally used as your tank is planted of course) should clear what's there, but will obviously have no effect on the bog wood itself. It can take quite a while for woods to stop leaching tannins.

Andy

I soaked my mopani wood for ~2 months, it still leaches colour into the water, but not as much as it leached into the bucket when soaking. It will take ages to stop staining the water, boiling the wood can help but this isn't a guarantee.
