I just scoop out my Green Spotted Pleco just now and I'm not too happy...he looks so healthy just yesterday....Anyways I'm not too sure why he died, but the signs point out to bloat...he's got a big belly and white poop when I scoop him out....too bad he was a very nice and expensive pleco... :byebye:

Oh dear ! Sorry to hear about your loss. Do you have any other fish in the tank with him (I suppose you do). Check them all out too, as they might very well also have internal parasites - as that's what I suspect he died of :/

if it's not an internal bacterial/parasitical thing, it could have been an internal tumour. I had a goldfish with a tumour on his kidney. He was fine, but a bit bloated. Then he got the white poo and died.

I think I'm having a bloat breakout as some of my cichlids are spitting their food today especially my taiwan reefs, I hope I don't lose these guys especially, they are super rare in my area and it took me months of looking at different LFS before I found them.... :(

I'm so sorry about your loss... :rip: little plec.

Hope the other fish don't contract anything nasty...

Loss another one today....my gold ancistrus plec died today....now it's my one of my clown loach that has the bloated belly...I feed them some metronizable soaked pellets, hopefully this will work cause right now i'm really frustrated...I also have a bunch of apistogrammas that won't wont eat anything but bloodworms on my other tank....I've never had this problems before.....

Sorry for the losses.
But I think you should start pushing some anti-parasite medicine into your tank.
Their is also a garlic liquid that is marketed for aquariums that you can use to fight of the pests.
Or you can do it the old fashion way and squeeze a little garlic juice out of a peice of garlic and soak the food in it.

You have to realize also that your mixing fish from different water chemistries.
That causes a lot of stress.

How long have you had your plecos also?

i am so sorry, those are expensive fish, i've seen them in this really nice lfs 2 (there is 2 fish stores and a pets mart by my house, i'm lucky) but, sorry for the loss :(

Cullen aquanaut, I never knew that you could use garlic juice??? natural herbs I guess....Anyways I have been treating my tank with hexamit(metro) for the last few days....Seems to be getting some good signs tonight as some of the fish are getting their dark feces back....BTW i have 2 tanks and I have a separate tank for my apisto's they are not in my african tank...they wouldn't last 5 minutes with them.....
