Last night before going to bed the other half noticed the fish weren't quite themselves, especially our female red robin gourami who was upside down and not happy at all. Anyway this morning she had passed on
There are a number of reasons that could have contributed to her death, most of which are our fault
We had 1 female gourami and 2 males (although we didn't notice until we had them in our tank) they didn't seem to pester her too much.
Our rainbow shark seems to terrorise the gouramis more than anything else.
We cleaned our tank and put new fish in it the same day.
After testing our water this morning we found out that our nitrite and ammonia is slightly high so have added a dose of ammo lock and a 105g bag of nitrazorb under the filter.
Hopefully this will bring the levels back down, sorry to babble.
