I posted about lossing fish some ive had for over a year althought fish show no injuries you think my tiger barbs could be responsible ?? there about the size of 50p pieces but they have NEVER showed any agression in over a year in the tank can they suddenly change into killing machines ???.

Need to know what type of fish how many and the gallonage of the tank.
Filtration
water changing routine and how much
how old is the tank
tests for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and ph

Tank

tank has been est for over a year all levels normal and fish have all ben in for that time too seemed to go down hill after i treated for popeye in a tetra unless its just coinsidence
tank is 4ft x 18"#change water roughly every other week genrall 30% of content if needed.

With no obvious symptoms then its hard to diagnose without knowing everything else ive asked. Give us what you have for test results and how often and how much you change water.
It may be a bacterial condition thats affecting your fish. Have you noticed any of them with white poo? Any look skinny or gill colour not meaty red?

No thats the infuriating thing no obvious signs of death no scorching from high nitrate ect no milkyness spots/bruising just litterally looks like they have dropped dead. all levels are 0 and tank is well established i feel so helpless i ring my gf and she says another 2 have died ect. temp is ok no outside contamination rehomed my large bala incase he was guilty rehomed my frogs incase they wer guilty the only thing i can think of now is to set up my 3ft tank tommorow and put my tiger barbs in there and see if the deaths stop what u think ??

If it was the barbs then there would be some damage to the dead fish. I take it you are looking at them because none of them have died?
It may be that they are hardier than the fish you have.
You say 30% once a fortnight which with the level of stocking you have may not be enough and the bacteria may be taking them out.
Up your water changes to 40% twice a week for a while. Whats the substrate and do you use a gravel vac?
What is the filter and how often and how do you clean it out?
Do you have plants as a cycled tank should have nitrates showing.
Please as well test your tap water and tell us what levels you find.

A full list of the fish you have now and sizes would be helpful too :)

Gravel as substrate, vac as well i may leave longer then everyother week filter canister type (exeeds tanks requirments) nitrates 0 ppm.filter media cleaned roughtly every month or so
remaining fish are when needed.
pleco
2 cherry barbs
4 glowlights
3 neons
4 chequer barbs
5 amano shrimps
4 zebra danios
5 pearl danios3 scissor tails
Planted tank unsure on plant names

You need to do more water changing with the gravel vac. Try twice a week at 40% for now to see if that helps any.
Test your tap water for nitrates.

How are you cleaning your filter media out, is it by washing in old tank water or via the water tap?

What is the name of your filter ?

When you clean your filter out is it really dirty?

Sorry for all the questions but I just dont think your maintenance of the tank is good enough. Even though you dont have any nitraite worries and you say your ammonia and nitrite is at 0 as well, bacteria will be building up and infecting the fish.

How old is the test kit and which one is it?

Filter cleaned in old water to try to maintain healthy bacteria cultures, filter brand unsure as tank is at gfs house and im at home and water from filter/tank has some dirt(needs some to maintain bacteria) but not DIRTY.I just cant see how its all gone so wrong so quickly after well over a year and no problems.I had fish for serveral years so am prety good with them. Its just irritating me to slowly see their numbers dwindling down and not been able to help them (yet) sorry for lack of info on filter.your advice is greatly apreciated :).And water aereated by 2 x1ft air stones so plenty of air there.
