i have 5 congo tetras, one BGK fish and a pleco (normal) and a striped raphael. It just hides and wont eat....

I dont want it to die, its SOOOO pretty :(

Do you mean that you put a betta in that community tank? If you put a betta in there it may be being bullied by the congo tetra (not sure how nippy they are as I have never kept them). I am unsure how compatible a betta is with the other fish in there. Bettas in community tanks is a debated issue some do well by reports and others don't. My bettas are kept in solitary tanks as they seem to do better, In a community their long fins can be a target for nipping and they can be bullied or bully other fish depending on the character of the betta. Two of mine are very feisty but the third is really laid back and in the past has had small fish as tank mates but now lives with and adf and a snail. It might be an idea to think about getting it a seperate tank, mine are very happy in their 21L tanks, but as a guide i believe people say 1.5-2.5 (depending on opinion) is the minimum size.
Good luck :good:

Bettas do better by themselves in their own tank. I have mine in it's own tank. If you leave your betta in there, the other fishes might nip at his fins and make him sick and weak or something.

just found out what a BGK fish is - thats probably the culprit, and any tetras are prone to fin nip! put him (the betta) in a plastic floating breeder trap for now whilst you can sort out better accomodation.

the congos and BGK are not at all compatible with the betta. he needs to be removed from this tank

The Betta is probably terrified it's going to be eaten. Those other fish are really not suitable as tank mates for the Betta, they're called fighting fish but all the other tank mates you have listed are much larger than him and likely to kill him.

It may be that he's just learning his place in the tank, but I would agree with the above posters, he should be removed and homed in a tank on his own or with some more suitable companions.
