Just Got A Pair Of Neon Sword Tails

I was at the LFS couse I was getting a new Male guppie since I lost two of mine I couldnt help it when I was looking I got attached to a The last pair of Neon Sword Tails. Though they were kinda big I thought I would get them anyways. Im wondering If they have any different needs than the guppys? They seem to be doing fine and enjoying their new home very much. How long do you guys think befor they have fry if any.

Swordtails are pretty easy to take care of, and I would say they're hardier than Guppies, so you shouldn't have any problems.

With all livebearers, give them plenty of places to escape to, plenty of space, and clean, stable water. I know it's hard but try to stay away from impulse buys. It'll keep you from having to figure out stuff after you've returned from the LFS. Good luck.

Swordtails are nice fish and their a lot hardier than guppies in my opinion, as to breeding I just got my first batch from my black swords and it took about 4 weeks (but they could have been expecting a while before that.

Ill try to get some pics, but my digital camara is in Fairfield. I know to stay away from impulse buys, but i couldnt help it. these are the most beutiful sword tails i have seen. This LFS "capital city aquarium" Is on of the largest on the west coast. They are very well known for their sword tails and the numbers and quality. I saw probably over 50-80 variations of swordtails but i couldnt pass these two head turners up They were labled As "neon Sword tails". They have more colors in them then all the sword tails I have seen. He is 3 different shades of Orange, With a half Neon Blue and grey stripe down the middle of him. His sword part of his tail is very well defined to perfection and outlined in black. Ill try to get some pics soon! B)
