I have an aquaclear 150 in there which has been my filter for over a month now, ever since the tank was setup

however, twice in the past week it has shut down by itself because of overheating i believe! it is not glogged up, i checked both times and the waterflow is steady and good. The water used to be a bit blurry until i got some seachem Purigen. Then it got clear but not as clear as i wanted it to be

I set up my new ac 300 this afternoon and put the purigen in it along with the sponge and 2 bags of ammonia remover to fill the basket. after an hour, water got crystal clear like never before, even clearer than tap water!

The waterflow is much stronger now though, but i managed to adjust my water level so the flow does not bother my fish.

I'll be running both filters for about a week so bacteria establish in my new filter before removing my ac150 and keeping it as an emergency filter

I'm very pleased with results so far!

For a 20 gallon? Do the fish mind the current?

Wow, I've got a 400 on my 75. It's very lightly stocked though. Gonna add an AquaClear 500 when I finish stocking. I was gonna get another 400 because it's really great but have heard great things about the AC's too so I thought why not.

ya it reallt is clean i have the emperor plus a the penguin mini which will be taken out and put on my betta tank once i get it.
