Just got 2 pairs of Brachyrhaphis Hartwegi

Hi dudes,

I just got 2 cracking pairs of them.
Does anyone out there keep em?
I wondered if anyone new how long the gestation period is for them?
I want to try and get some young off them.
I am currently keeping them in pH7 with some Killies but want to get em out when they are going to drop.

I have no experience with this particular brachy but I have kept b. roseni ... I'm not sure of just how similar they are. Have no idea about gestation period - it would depend greatly on water temp. and the like anyway - but I wouldn't think it's much more than say a guppy. However, the first time mine bred they ate the fry right up. A very well-planted aquarium is essential and removing the parents wise, if any fry are to survive. Mine were also rather aggressive and did much better in a species tank than with other fish.
