weirdest thing i have seen is an octopus ornament with its legs attached to its body by springs so the legs "wiggle" in the current oh and they also do a squid version very weird lol.

My daughter has a floating jelly fish (on a string with a suction cup) that she refuses to give up. It won't even stay floating. It is on bottom more than it floats, but she loves it.

At work we have croc heads, dragons and a few other 'air powered' ornaments that jump up every few seconds, but that's about the weirdest I've seen really

What I'd really like to see is some kind of crazy space themed tank, starfield b/g with planets, asteroid type rocks, moon sand



... and a big darth vader.

ah i've seen those. once a plec at the shop was resting inside the croc's mouth with its tail sticking out. it was hilarious, as though the croc came to life and ate the plec.

Couple of weird things I'd like to see in a tank:

1) Do up a styrofoam installation to cover the bottom, back, part of the sides and top, done up to look like a limestone cave and painted with black epoxy. Black sand substrate, a little driftwood, all white fish, dim red or blue lighting (or even lighting that's red part of the day, blue part of the day.
2) A 3 to 5 gallon tall cyclindrical tank with back marbles, white plastic plants, and a red betta
3) A loach tank with a grid of 1" PVC tubes, say 3 or 4 tubes to a side, so that it would make between 4 and 27 cubes of negative space. All tubes open at the ends. Tie a clump of Java Fern at each juncture. Should look like a derelict skyscraper.
4) A tank at least 50% full of driftwood with clown plecos and pencilfish.
5) A tank where all the decorations are ceramic masks (like mardi gras masks)
6) A tank aquascaped to look like the Montana badlands with a road running through it and replicas of a couple of cars from Deathrace 2000 in it. I'd put Skunk Loaches and Tiger Barbs in it.
7) A nice, naturalistic looking tank with a ruined B-29, mostly down to the struts crashed in it.
8) All decor done in skulls, with worm and eel like fish. Maybe Orange Pike Cichlids and Peackock eels.
9) A 40 breeder with a military strategy game set up on the bottom, preferably WWI, and Puffers as Zeppelins.
10) A saltwater setup with a ton of liverock either end of the tank, and the Forbidden City set up in the middle, with a mandarin goby.

While the citiscape thing is probably done poorly, I think it would be ultracool to do a ruined, sunken cityscape, particularly in a palludarium so that the tallest buildings were out of the water and had bromeliads growing on them. Maybe with mudskippers.

don't they realise the "toxic waste" tank has stuff that can harm the fish. heres what i see now, crushed cans (can have splits that can cut a fish, there open and the opening is very sharp too), i can see some type of wire, again dangerious. but i guess if u have the knowlage on the fish then you could pull something off like that (i think it looks like a public park's pond )

totally agree about the dangers in this tank but this theme could be done well if enough thought went into it, i personally dont like the look of it prefer a natural look myself, ( public park pond lol very true!)

I once saw a six inch submarine with the bubbles that make the prop spin. I wanted to get it becasue it was subltle but cool.

personally i hate all that sort of thing but i gotta admit some are clever lil' designs

worse tank ive seen is my gf dads tank, its backing is loads of different cut outs of minis, and the tank has mini's all across the floor of the tank, it looks mank but i didnt want to say anything as she gets pretty upset cos the first time i saw it i said it wasnt healthy for the fish as the toy cars will start to rot.....but what can i do eh

They sell "Old West Town" kits for your aquarium, they are hideous. I thought about turning my betta tank into one though just so I could post pics and say look at my tacky tank.

Apparently they now have kits for "authentic egyptian ruins". Horrible.

I've seen both of these.....dreadful. I might've understood one that was 'Atlantis', but scenes from a desert

surely someone, somewhere has done a Star Wars themed one? Although if you search for that you only get that R2D2 'tank'
