I will not be getting another filter so it would either have to be a betta or a paradise fish. I am leaning more towards paradise fish because I had one before and loved her to death...until my betta killed her. That was way back when I listened to the LFS employees. They told me they would do fine together in a 10 gallon. And I heard that they can be kept in coldwater so don't need a heater. :dunno:

I may get a cheap heater, but I am not sure. I will be doing 50-80% water changes everyday so I will be adding warm water to keep it to a warm temp. but my room temp is usually 75-80 all the time even during winter and summer.

I also won't be gidding a lid or a light so I only filled the ten gallon 3/4 full so I don't get any escape artists.

So what do you think?? Paradise fish or betta?

I think I might get a betta because I read that a paradise fish should be atleast kept in a 20 gallon?

If your not going to heat the tank, then for sure get the Paridise fish.( unless you live on the equater) They can stand a lot of abuse. The betta needs warmpth, and needs a cover on the tank to keep the air warm. If your going to keep a cool water tank, you might look into some of the Killiefish, BUT you would definitly need a cover. Good Luck KF

Yep, that's what I heard. They can get quite large, actually... I've seen some paradise fish at the LFS that were twice or even three times as big as bettas

Well I think I have decided on the betta and will pick up a small heater when I am out. Thanks.
