Well I guess I can say I'm truly back in the world of Fish Keeping now, as I used to have a lot of tanks when I was younger but after leaving home and moving in with my partner I just kept one 3ft Community aquarium.

Also recently got a 2ft tank, and now a four foot tank and cabinet!

Cabinet is Solid wood in mahogany, but just dropped the stand/cabinet and the wooden hood off to a painter and he's gonna strip it down, base coat it and paint it gloss white ready to go in the new house as we are moving on the 5th Feb to Isleworth from Twickenmham.

Am so excited, also was given two new male crowntail betta's by my father this week taking my total of Betta's to 5.2 now!! He saw them and couldn't resist buying me them and his friend who's a fish breeder 2 aswell.

Also just making my self a set of betta tanks, I purchased 3 glass cookie jars and have drilled a hole in the back of each one to silicone an air tube in place the are all sitting on a reptile heat strip and the temps was perfect when tested.

Will post pics as soon as I get a chance!!

Thanks for listening to a proud fish keeper.. LOL

Sounds great, good lucl.

Grrr... It's going to cost me £40 plus just for a small 15 gallon, filter, heater etc. You lucky lucky b******!

LOL

The best thing is it came with all those aswell including a working Eheim 2217 external filter.. :p

What a great bargain. Which brings one to wonder, why is he selling the setup? Did you ask him? And good luck with your new tank, hope you have a lot of fun with it!

The guy owns a huge fish house and breeds various species as a hobby and supplies LFS's, I had been bidding on an aquarium on eBay and didn't win it as it went to high in price. Was telling my dad and he mentioned that his friend was selling one for a guy and has it in his garage but needed the space..

Saw the tank and said it great, how much? he looked at me and said well I was hoping for about £40 and I just smiled and said sold. lol

sounds nice, but WUT YOU ARE PAINTING A MOHOGANY CABINET! wuts wrong with you, you should never paint such a beutiful wood with white paint, get it sanded and varnished dude, it'll turn out sweet! unless its not mohogany,

I understand what you mean fufanu360 but it just doesn't go with what we have!
The tank would look out of place with mahogany cabinet and top..

It's gotta go, althouhg yes if i had darker furniture it would be great as it is..

Well the new aqaurium is in our new house and has been setup for ages now.. It's looking grand in it's new White colour.

Have it all planted and started stocking slowly over a period.

To date it is stocked with a large school of Cardinal Tetra's, 2 Pigeon Blood Red Discus (More to be added, over a period of time) and a group of Bronze Corydoras

Am so happy, just off to take some pics for you all

Congratulations!

When you say a 4ft tank are you talking about a 55 gallon long? Those are great....just the right size for almost whatever you want to do within reason.

Sounds pretty good and what a great deal!!

I like your ideal of heating your bettas with a heat mat, could probable use them for planted tank heating instead of those heating cables.
