I just wanted to check with you guys before I go through with this. For my birthday my mom is going to get me a 55 gallon tank. And my nana is going to get me one petco gift card and one petquarters(Petstore local to Maine) gift card. I plan on getting gravel and nessesitys for the tank at petco, and then the fish and plants and petquarters. I am not sure if the stocking plan I have is ok. So I just wanted to check.

4 yoyo loaches
2 angel fish
2 butterfly rams
2 opaline gouramis
1 golden gourami
1 rts
1 bristle nosed pleco

that is all I can think of at the moment. Any suggestions are welcome, but I just wanted to make sure this would work.

I'm not sure if petco does it too, but petsmart will pricematch their website, which is usually much cheaper than the store price. It might be a way to make your gift card go farther.

Stocking wise, that looks fine. If your angels turn out to be a breeding pair, things could get interesting, though.

That's probably close to the limit of stocking, if I'm doing the math in my head right.

Now that I think about it, the three gouramis would cause trouble. They would fight all the time. I'll stick with one gourami. So suggestions on what else to put in would be nice. I am thinking on the lines of oddballs. But anything would be nice.

could go with an eel of some kind, fire eel, tire track eel,spiny eel, alot of those are very nice fish

Yes, both PetsMart and Petco will match the website. Print out the information with item and price from the website and bring it with you to the store. The manager will have to sign off on it but both stores will match the on-line price.
