So yea, i'll have one male in a 1g, the one in the second image in a 2.5g, and 6 females in a 10g! :shout: But i'm wondering, this seems like it'd be a hassle to do all the water changes, do you guys have any routines for cleaning tanks of this quantity?

Thanks! :good:

lovely bettas, to change the water, either do them all on one day, like i do,every sunday, spend a while water changing all my tanks, or do each one on different days, what i mean is, either spead a lot of time getting them all done, then there done, or do each one, spending a small amount of time each day or what ever.
with a 1g, daily water changes are nessary anyway, the 2.5g will need to be sorted out every 3 days at the most, unless a filter is present, then every 5-7days. and the 10 gallon will need to be cleaned every week, with 6 bettas, the aggression could be high, but with so many females, the aggression might be less.how are you heating the 1g and the 2.5 gallon?
im guessing the 10g has a heater?
con i persuade you to upgrade the 1g to atleast another 2.5? all heated ofcourse.
just my opinion

the 10g i have a heater for that is set to ~76-78F, filtered of course

with the 1g and 2.5g, i dont have a heater for it cause im in dorms and they put the heater on anywho, so its pretty warm in the room as is, i got heater for 10g cause i didnt want too much fluctuation in temp since it was closer to the window. but the 1g and 2.5g should be fine at room temp no?

the 2.5g is filtered, the 1g isn't. do you do a complete water change or just 25% of it?

many people would say room temp. is ok for bettas, personally i would say NO  they are tropical fish and need warmer waters. there are heaters out there for 2.5 gallons, i think you should get one.like i said before, please consider getting another 2.5 gallon for the poor betta in the 1gallon jar.
your 10gallon sounds perfect, ha it got planty of plants and hidng places for the females?
with the 1g, water changes should be done every day, about 90%of the water, because of no filter, substrate or any decor, no bacteria can grow, a little bit is stored in the water, plus the fish feels betta in the water its use to, replace 90% of the jar water with well treated tap water at the same temperature of the jar's water.maybe add a small plant/plant cutting into the jar, takes up little room and something for the betta to look at. floating plants are good, help the water quality and dont take up room

awesome thanks for the info :good: ill see what i can do

not anytime soon, lol. i live in the dorms so i wouldnt have any room to put the fry anywhere  but yea, the seller plans to ship it and it'd arrive on a weekday when i have school, so im trying to find the best time to ditch class to pick up the fishies

any idea on what time they usually arrive? or is it sporadic..cause the guesstimate is wednesday and thursday, and i have important classes that day, as well as work on wednes!

Ive ordered from the guy you baught your bettas from in the middle, he normally sends some extras. And mine where shipped on monday and arrived thrusday

ooh i see, i purchase all the bettas from the same guy cause the shipping fee seemed so much simpler :shifty: what do you mean he usually sends extras? like extra bettas? hehe, he's shipping mine on monday as well, i just dont know what time i should be available in my dorm on thursday.

Nice fishies!! Personally I've chosen to not heat my 2.5 gallon tanks and just make sure the room stays nice and toasty. However, sense your in a dorm room I would see about getting one - you can't directly controll the heat - so it would probably be a good idea. Just be sure that the one you get has a temperature control on it - not just an on and off switch. You want to keep the water a stable temperature - but you also don't want to cook mr betta.

All of the fishies are wonderful!! I just got a yellow delta girl who looks very similar to yours...and both boys are just drop dead  gorgeous. Because of there size - I would suggest getting the other boy an upgrade to a 2.5 gallon as well. Then you'll have the 1 gallon left over in case any of your girls either a.) don't get along or b.) get sick and you need a hospital tank.

The 1 gallon for now is fine though. Just make sure you stay on top of your water changes. I change my tanks once a week - and everyone's fine. Might I ask if the 1 gallon is a fish bowl? Or is it a tank of some kind?

You'll want to be sure that all of the tanks and the bowl have a lid. Bettas _love_ to jump.

all of the tanks of tops, the 1g tank is some cheesy betta tank that i got with my first betta, but its alot more suitable than those 'fancy' other betta 'bowls' they release nowadays.

Yeh, I ordered 3 and got 4 bettas. Your shipping USPS Priority right, id say around 1-4 p.m would be good hehe skip 4 classes

ah i should be fine then, i usually have lab from 8am-11am, then tutoring from 11-12, then volunteering @ pharmacy from 12-2pm... so i guess i just wont volunteer that day
