I will be setting up a 29 gal tank soon and cycling it. While I'm waiting to add fish I'm trying to come up with my stock list. I decided to go with a black and white theme with black and white decorations, sand, and fish. So far I have panda cories, otos, and zebra danios on my list. What else would work? And how many of each type of fish could I have? Tank dimensions are 12.25"W 18.5"H and 30.25"L

maybe some black neon tetras? and from what i know is that panda corys are sensitive to water conditions so i wouldent ad them for a while after you are done cycling, maybe a couple months after cycling is done. other then that you should be good! :good:

Thanks. I'll add those to the list.
Yeah, I read that pandas like mature tanks so I figure I'll wait at least until this summer before they go in. That's kind of disapointing, as they were the ones I really really wanted, so it will be hard to be patient :)
Do you think 6 black neons, 6 zebra danios, 6 pandas, and 3 otos would be ok? Would I need more of the tetras or danios (I read they like groups), or is that too much? I just want to get everything right before the fish go in! After the fishless cycle I think I'll go with the tetras, danios, and otos...and then the pandas will come in when the tank has been running ok for a few months.

Your proposed stocking suggestion above sounds good.

I would probably go for something else rather than Zebra Danios but thats just my opinion.

I agree, Zebra Danios drive me insane. They're everywhere at once. If you want a calm, peaceful looking tank, I wouldn't suggest Danios. On the other hand, if you like watching fish zip about at 50 miles per hour, then Danios should be on your list. Hey, some people find that relaxing, I guess.
