Just Added Sand

hi all i just added sand to my already cycled tank - i have the fish sitting in a big bucket (55 litres) with a heater and i am constantly checking the water temp (its fine and so are the fish)

i want to know how long it will take for the sand to settle and the water to stop being cloudy

i also was wondering if i put my fish back in would they be ok?

i just dont wanna leave them sitting in a bucket!

Providing you washed the sand well, it should only take a couple of hours for the sand to settle. It wont hurt the fish to put them back in - so go ahead.

Yeah put the fish back in, they should be fine. I never took mine out, just poured the sand in there. Mine got really cloudy too. I could only see a couple inches into the water. Fish where physically fine, but they where freaking out quite a bit.
