tanks been set up for 2 and a half weeks now, cycled and starting to get that brown algae, name of its slipped my mind.

my query is would it be okay to add 5kg more of fully cured figian live rock good quality stuff, at the same tiem as my clean up crew or would i need to let the rock go through a mini cycle, it will only be out of the water for 20 mins tops, so im guessing there wont be much die off ...

just thoght id get the views of more experianced minds!

It's diatoms. Why would it be out of the water for that long? I would say yes it should be ok, when I added my cured LR I had virtually no cycle. I wouldn't add shrimp at the same time since they are a bit more delicate but I don't see why not though not sure on the time period part, can't help there.

thats the word i was looking for! cheeers.

and it the live rock wud be out for that long cus thats how long it takes to get back here from the lfs!

You could put it in an airtight bag or bucket of water if possible. I got mine doublebagged, tighed real tight, no problems.

If live rock is fully cured you can add it at anytime. Just waft it. If it smells fresh then it is cured. If it isn't it will smell like...well rotting corpses.

I'm still adding live rock to my tank and it had been running with fish for awhile now.
