no, not that i know of, because pearling means the plants are off gasing alot of o2, which means that are taking alot of co2 because there photosynthesis rates are fast(breath), so that means the plants are growing really well

as for melting in crypts?
it is where the leaves of crypts die off(or on other plants)
because of flucuating water conditions

well we moved a plant(think its a crypt)
and it was pearling like mad but now its leaves have sort of sagged abit so does that mean its melting?
thanks

it could be the start of it but just as long as the leaves dont die it isnt a melt

Too much pearling isn't bad.
O2 is probably streaming out of the plant because you've broken it during the move. So, not a "true" form of pearling.
Pearling arises when the plant is photosynthesizing so much that the surrounding layer of water around the leaves is saturated with oxygen. Therefore, no more can dissolve in the water, so we see the O2 being produced as tiny little bubbles.
