Red plants on the whole require more light than green plants. You could try red flame Echinodorus (I have it). It has the advantage that it will adapt to the light conditions to some extent. If light is low it tends to give off green leaves with red specks. If lightnig is high your'e more likely to get red leaves with green specs.
