Just A Concern?

looked at my tank and noticed alot of my fish was at the surface or just below there is alot of oxygen bubbles at the surface to.. my water stats are

gh-160
kh-80
ph-7.0
nitrite-0
nitrate-10

but my conern is the api tester kit strips doesnt come with an ammonia tester pad on the strip do you think there could be high ammonia in the water they dont seem stressed or any damage etc i was just concerned can anybody put my mind at rest ??

1st of test strips are crap buy yourself an API freshwater master test kit. and perform a water change. you may need to increase surface agitation so go and buy an airpump and airline and airstone, and that should help.

where can i get that from my lfs ?

air stone will be 2-3 quid, air pump £10-15 and around a pound for the airline

if your paying 3 quid for an airstone id be worried, all of the ones i visit have 1" airstones for 30p! and airline is generally charged by the meter so be careful as you can end up paying more for buying from the LFS direct than using a manufacturers product like 'betta' (whom do silicone airline which has silencing properties)

6-8" air stones i was on about. last hose i got was 6 meters for a £1 iirc its Marina stuff

Only tend to run air if i have to (pump noise drives me mad) good to have it as back up tho. I usually just aim the spray bars up so it agitates the water

edit. think it was two 6" air stones for £2.80 some thing like that.

that would be a good way of getting O2 into the water whilst saving money
