Anyway, some shots of the two are below.

So what I had to say about Nyx is she isn't doing great. She mostly sits at the top and bottom of her tank and refuses to eat. I got her to eat a few pellets when I first got her. But she won't eat pellets, peas OR flakes. I'm going to pick up some bloodworms at Petsmart tommorow. Any idea what's wrong with her? :(

Anyway, here's Jup, being a poser:

And Ares, swimming. (You can see his fins, finrot?)

I... don't know how to help.. :(

But I am compelled to tell you that ARES IS ABSOLUTELY STUNNING     Oh it almost makes me cry. Beautiful colouring, very unique, very sexy.

Thanks. :hyper: Does anyone happen to know what his coloring is? I've heard of 'Red Dragon' but I;m not sure. I know he has some marbling on him, though.

You finally got your camera to work right :p and I'm not sure if its a red dragon. According to Brian, Red Dragons are like red x opaque and spawn the siblings for a F2 and you get red dragons. SOMETHING like that. Don't take my word for it, I'm not exactly sure. But he's definitely not platinum as yuo say so in your siggy :p. Platinums are copper x opaque

It was my dad's camera. My camera only takes semi-good videos. :shout: Yeah, the lfs said it was platinum but then again, they also think female tail types don't exist. I figured a platinum meant, like, silver, but I'm not sure if there is such a thing as a 'silver' betta so I stuck with platinum. Although I'm still trying to decide if he's a SP or just a Delta, because his caudal fin when flared looks closer to a HM than a vt, for instance, it overlaps just a bit.

He looks like a SD to me :) and you can basically catagorize your betta in whatever name you want. For instance, most people call the bi coloured bettas that have green yellow/ blue yellow and so on, mustard gas when the "true" mustard gas was bred by some guy thats dead now I think. But the name stuck on. So on some betta sites, they might say their own "mustard gasses" will be like blue lightning or emerald dawns and so on. Platinums are just a name a person gave to a line of their copper x opaque bettas. So there really isnt anything drastically wrong with your lfs calling your male a platinum.

 lovely boy. Is Nyx in sparkly clean water with conditioner and a tiny bit of salt? Have you tried placing her in view of another male or a mirror? Perhaps she will eat in a day or so, if not, you need to look closely to see if she is a poorly girl. :good:

Thanks. :) Nyx was just moved into a 1g "jar" yesterday so the water is pretty clean (she's going to be moved into a 1g tank tommorow, maybe if I find a good price a 2g for more swimming room). Normally we don't use conditioner as our tapwater is extremely good, no chlorine, but when I get the new tank I'll put some in. I didn't put either salt or conditioner in as she was only going to be in the tank for a bit, but I'll put some in with the new tank. She seems good, she was out swimming quite a few times today. She'll sit by the edge of her tank by the male but he won't take notice of her. I've tried a mirror, she seems transfixed on it and then leaves. Other than the no eating issue, she looks pretty healty, so I don't see why she won't eat.

What about chloramines?? you have none of them either? then how do you drink your water  lol, oh ad nice fishes ;)

We probably have chloramine, my mom's never said. :/ But I'll start usuing conditioner from now on. I do use salt, though.

You need to always use conditioner.

Also, water is not "very good" because it has no chlorine in it. :p If they didn't put chlorine/chloramine in the water we would all be sick from drinking it most likely.

Ah, well, now I know. :good: We got a package of it with the 2g tank, so I'll start usuing it. So far, aside from Nyx, Jup and Ares seem fine.
