My fish seem to, recently, be a little jumpy. When i get close they go crazy and swin real fast;i think its stress. what can i do to "unstress" them? Will salt help? :/

well, my signature says that... i have a parrot fish (i know it will soon outgrow the tank), 3 mollies and 2 corys. My PH is at 7.8 but it has been like that since i got the fish, and they only recently acted up. (have had these fish for a month now) amonia is at 0, and noth nitrate and nitrite are at good levels...

well i cant say... my nitrite level measurer is color coded, and the chart thingy says like, for example, "yellow- ok for blah blah". Pretty cheesy brand, i guess, but hey, VIVA MEXICO! :D

Ok, make sure your nitrites the lowest reading possible. If they are suddenly becoming jumpy, i'd first check for signs of illness or anything else that may have recently changed in the tank or even n the room. Is there suddenly alot more action in the room where it was mellow before?

Not being cheeky, but are you getting nitrite and nitrate confused? It's essential to have zero nitrite, your nitrate is more likely to be shown as "safe" "OK" "good" etc on a test kit than nitrite is...

ok everyone! thx for teh help! i found the problem; since i have had some minor remodelations in my room, some workers where coming in and out and well baging their hammers on the walls and stuff... i dont know why i didnt think of such before! And i will also take the "background" advice... it will look pretty good with a black one! thnx again! :D
