hi guys

im fairly new to cichlids so im hoping you could give me some info on the behaviour of my new pair of julidachromis...

the problem is that my group of 7 corys seem to have their fins torn.... so im wondering if its my new julidachromis.... the rest of my tank is a mix of tetras, corys and ottos...which i was told by a very good lfs (where i got them from) would be fine... i know that there might be some aggression especially if they breed and the bigger one (hopefully a female) is a little hostile now but i've never seem them actually get hold of the cories....

so do you think its likely that it would be my new julidachromis??? if so any suggestions on what i could do about it?

thanks :)

I wouldn't house a timid fish like a Cory cat with something as territorial and potentially dangerous as a Julidochromis. I'd say there's a good chance the cory's are wandering into the wrong part of the tank and getting sompe pieces taken off their hide for the effort.
