Juli Question

I bought 5 Juliechromis marleiri fry about 6 months ago.The dude I bought them from said to put them in a tank and wait. Eventually a pair would form and I would start finding fish getting picked on and floating near the top. Well a couple of weeks ago I notice that the largest was constantly hanging out in a cave at the far right of the tank. A smaller one was in the centre and had the other 3 pretty much contained in the upper left corner of the tank. It seems reasonable that after a few weeks that this was the behavior I was waiting for and rehomed the 3 "floaters". Now the 2 remaining have staked out caves at the opposite ends of the tank and are showing some aggression towards each other.

Finally my questions. Does anyone have experience with these fish and can tell me what their mating behavior is. Does it sound like I made the right desision in picking these two. Any other thoughts would be great.
