I have got 2 paired Jewel Cichlids which i bought this week.
The female gained a large stomach within 2-3 days of getting them and was getting snappy so i guess she was pregnant.
Today, i looked in the tank and she is thin again. ive checked about to see if she has laid anything but i can not see and she doesnt hide in any of the caves in the tank.
I dont want to have any eggs that she might have laid eaten, can someone tell me how long it usually takes from laying to seeing babies if there are any.
Would be nice to have some babies about the tank, the white mountain minnows someone sold me sayign they would be safe are not surviving very well
- i have given up trying to chase them around the tank and save them - they are just too fast.
