Hi, any ideas on covering the top filter inlet as I have lost numerous angel fish and the latest a dwarf gourami, they get sucked into the filter and can't get away, Thanks

I would imagine they were sick and ended up there dead or dying, rather than that the filter killed them. If you have gaps in the filter you could try adding some filter floss to the top, this might ease the suction a tad.
If you can you post a photo of the inlet we can make sure nothing is amiss?

There is quite a lot of suction on the jewel filters and its only the flat fish that seem to have the problem, I've now tried to put some plastic bent in a semi circle round the filter holes with a smaller gap underneath to see if this does the trick, unfortunately there is no adjustment on the pump

I have two and have never had fish go in them, only shrimp and they usually survive. I do fill up the filters with media which may calm the suction. Hope you're modification works :)

Sorry, what i meant was that they end up flat against the filter inlet where the suction is so powerful they can't swim away, I normally find them the next day after they have been there all night

There must be a way of lowering the flow of it’s too powerful even for angels to get away from the inlet.

Bit of trial and error probably but usually extra filter media over the inlet or a diy baffle of sorts will do the trick.

They were only small angels and a dwarf gourami, i've managed to put a piece of bendy plastic in a semi circle in front of the vents with a half inch gap under, fingers crossed
