Jewel Filter

ive only had my jewel vision 180 for a few months. Maybes 4 at most. Ive been out alot at work so dont know exactly when the filter stopped working. ive cleaned the filter sponges, and sometime last week i changed the poly pad, which isnt as dirty as it usually gets so im assuming something is stopping the filter from working!

Its definately plugged in. i was a little confused about how to handle this filter when i got the tank, as its different to the filter i used to have which just had the sponge and some carbon in. Any help would be appreciated.

Is it looking like im just going to have to buy a new, different filter?

Unplug the filter, open up the powerhead and clean the impellor...theres probarbly something stuck on it thus slowing it down....mine sometimes slows down and i do this and it jets out

My filter overheated a while ago (i ran it dry doing a water change....duh ). Perhaps you could pull it apart till you find the impeller (looks like a little propeller/fan on a stick) and make sure it can rotate freely? if it is sticking, that may be your problem, and you should be able to buy a replacement impeller instead of a whole filter. I freed up my impeller by turning it gently and cleaning out any gunk, and the filter started working again.
