Jewel Cichlids In A 29

Can I keep a couple of Jewel Cichlids in a 29 gallon?

I think that would be alright. I read a topic on here where someone was keeping a pair in a 20 gallon and noone said that they needed a bigger tank, so I would think that having 1 pair would be alright in a 29 gallon
