Hi I have a Blue grom, I'm not sure if he is a dwarf or not. I got him paired several months ago, and everything was fine before the ick. I had a horrible ick out break and it took my betta, loach, and guppies. leaving me with the 2 blues and one Otto. before the mass death my blues loved each other always probing and swimming closely, after the others were sent to Valhalla one ate the other but left my Otto alone

today I went to petsmart, told them my woes and was directed to an Spotted African Leaf Fish, * I think i have Ctenopoma acutirostre going off of pictures I found on the web* both he and my blue are 2in long.

right as I put the leaf in my tank the blue started nibbling on him, chasing him around the tank, and just being a jerk. Should I return the leaf to the store? or wait a few days and see if they settle down

also my otto is only 1.5in long is he in danger of being eaten?

I hope this makes sence I've been up for way to long

thanks
Debra

*I'll post pictures tomarrow, I'm to tired to find my digital*

Well, the blue gourami has probably set its own territory and is probably defending it. To be sure of your situation, we have to know what size your tank is.

If you want to confirm that you have a blue gourami check out this thread with pics http://www.fishforums.net/content/Gouramis...ami-Site-List-/

Your new fish is a spotted climbing perch. Well that's one of the names people call them anways. It is a predatory fish, so its carnivorous. It is likely going to grow to the same size as your blue gourami (if it actually is a blue gourami) or even larger, and will likely kill or try to eat your otto. IMO I would return it, since it might die from the stress the blue one is giving it, and also since you just fought against ich, it might show up on the perch since its more stressed.

10g
semi-planted, 3 dwarf lillies
2 1cup terracotta pots, and a plastic "driftwood" log
the ick was finally killed 3+ months ago, I cleaned the gravel and did a complete water change

I rearranged the tank before putting in the leaf per instruction on a different thread from this forum

I know hes a blue gourami I just wasnt sure if hes dwarf or not,
