Hi

i am looking for a good relyable source to find Jelly Bean Tetras (Ladigesia roloffi). i seem to be having troubles at my lfs' and want to look at getting some down the road for a nice species tank (just them maybe cories or pleco or so). i have reseached them. and now i can't seem to find a good source to buy them. i looked on ebay and aquabid for both common and scientific name but search yeilded no results. can anyone give me links (if at all possible) to places or lfs' that are either in the US or ship to the US? also what would be a good price to pay for them?

here is a link to a pic and some info on these fish: (as a refernece to actual fish wanted)

The first question that comes to mind is WHY?
These are only imported IME as contaminants or as box fillers as they are little, relatively drab, fish.
Any you do see will probably be wild caught and will need soft acidic water & I think it would make sense for you to gain experience with captive bred fish first.
What about these appeals to you so we can suggest some other species?

i just liked them. i don't want them now... and i am familiar with their picky needs... i just want to know where i could find them and for how much so i can estimate the cost. i like the fact that they are small and school and have a variety of colors. i want to set up a 20 gal or so for a group of these type fish. i don't know why... i want to get into more "rare" fish. i like having the feeling that i have fish that not many people have. i want to get into the trade and want to set up a new tank at least every summer. i basically want a fish that fits the above criteria but isn't common on the market and has a decent lifespan.
