over the last couple of days one of my platinum angels has turned a bit pink around the mouth and its mouth is wide open . It is still feeding by sucking in i guess but the mouth will not shut any ideas

Sounding like a bacterial infection.
Need more info.
Water atats would be good in ammonia,nitrite,nitrate, and ph.
Open wide mouth, something lodged in the mouth, sores or ulcers in the mouth.
So make sure first nothing lodged in the mouth, even if you have to wrap the fish in a cloth soaked in tank water.
Wrap the fish in the cloth and having some sterlised tweezeers ready just in case.
If nothing lodged sounds like a bacterial infection.

thanks already checked for foriegn bodies and water levels as normal no other fish with problems . rarely use chemicals for treatment what would you suggest i use

You need a bacterial med then, whats your location.
Can you load a pic up.
Has he bangled his mouth on anything in the tank.

Always best to issolate a sick fish so do you have a spare tank.
Anti internal bacteria med by interpet.
Don't forget to increase aeration with the med, and remove black carbon if you use it.

thanks for choice of medication as for seperate tank not available to little room in the flatbut could float an ice cream tub and extend air blower to it

The box will be to small and stress the fish even more.
Medicate the whole tank then.
