hi all i was just wondering if i cotton tie java moss onto a slate rock will it attach itself, reason i ask is i only want the top of the rock covered but because of this u will be able 2 see the cotton on the front side even when it has grown i dont wa0nt this , so was wondering if the moss will actually attach it self to the slate so when it has grown i can cut the cotton and remove it without the moss comming off the slate

thanx

I'm not sure it will hold on slate without being tied down, because slate is flat and the moss wouldn't have any thing to grip onto. Most people just leave the cotton/fishing line on, the moss will eventually grow over the cotton so you won't be able to see it.

no the slat rock is about 4 inches high then a flat surface i only want the surface 2 grow so the side where the cotton is tied will still be visable quick drawing below dont laugh tho just 2 show :p

O rite i see, I don't mean to be rude, but its common sense really  ........ why not just tie the cotton in one direction - left to right, then there won't be and cotton showing on the front of the slate :good:

Fantastic paint skills btw :p

yeh i did think about doing that way but im not sure still how it would look the rock is sort of unny shaped and u will probably see the cotton either way but.... i can always try and see how it looks:)

thanx for reply

and lol yes i thought my paint skill were pretty good 2 pmsl :p

Well, i'd say if you get an appropriately coloured cotton, you won't notice it. Go for dark green, black, or grey. I use dark green and it's hardly noticeable unless you're looking for it
