Has any of the forum ever purchased java moss from online plant retailers. I need a fair amount for breeding purposes and don't want to pay a lot of money for a very small clump. What size are the portions supplied by these retailers, and which ones are the best. I dont want to buy the likes of Tropica brand which is attached to lava rock/bogwood, I just want the moss itself. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Good to see you again on the forum mate. Haven't heard from you for while in "Planted". How's your tank going?

I bought some clumps from Greenline. Each clump was about 4 x 3 x 3cm. They were healthy enough and grew well in no time.

Cheers gf225,
Been concentrating on building up my fish stocks (Killifish) again after the big move to a new house.
Tanks going well, got an algae bloom a wile back, rather than cutting back I let everything run riot so to speak for a while. The algae is virtually non existant but the Hygrophila is growing out of the tank.
How large is the initial clump of moss from Greenline?
Regards

As I said mate - 4 x 3 x 3 cm. I bought five individual clumps and covered my bogwood. Now my Java fern has completely taken over though!
