I have a fountain on my patio. The fountain gets very little light. I was wanting to throw some java moss on the splashguard of the fountain (screen-like material). If I just throw it on top (a good portion of it) , and if stays moist from the water, will it flourish and grow all over the guard and fountain???

Should be fine through the summer. Not sure on the winter ;)

Moss can grow 'emersed' and some use Java Moss as 'topping' on their emersed potted Crypts.

Yeah, the moss will definitely grow as long as it isn't allowed to be fully dry. Moss survives in many places including natural streams and small waterfalls.

Thanks guys....it sounds like it will grow as far as it remains moist...so it will grow to all of the wet parts...that will look pretty good IMO. Thanks for the feedback, as always guys.
