I'm trying to grow java moss in my planted aquarium but my SAE keeps stripping the moss down to thin stems. I have seen lots of pics on the net with SAE's and moss and they always seem to have good lush growth, even Amano himself has had tanks with the two together. I thought maybe it wasn't getting enough food but after a good feeding of live daphnia it went straight back to the moss.

Does anyone else have Java moss and SAE's and is experiencing the same problem?

I was just wondering the same thing. I just got my java moss, and I have 3 sae's, then this morning I'm reading my Tropical Fish Hobbiest magazine, and Amanos article is about moss's and low light plants. In this article he states 'Lastly, if siamese flying foxes (are they the same?) are used, they should be watched closley. They eat coarse black algae that grows on driftwood, but they are herbivores and the nibble on moss if they run out of algae to eat'

I have noticed my sae's hanging around my moss, so im a bit worried as well.
