I bought i small Java Fern plant today (it actually has several seperate plants in one clump which is good) and i want to attach it to my bogwood but I'm not sure what i should use to attach it with. I would use fishing line but that means getting the wood out of the tank and its rather big and would stir the water up. At the moment i have the fern floating in the water.

How should I attach it?

hmmm thats a bid dillema... it could be a good opportunity to rescape the tank or clean it a little but... but aside from removing the whole driftwood you could use long tweezer like tools or dippong your whole arm...... you could use fishing line or cotton thread(will rot eventually) up to you :) you could also try anchoring it with stones if you like

Yeah its a pity i didnt get the fern a few days ago 'cause i have just recently rescaped it lol.
Does it take very long for java fern to become attached to the wood itself?

i only tried attaching java moss and anubias... and with the two of em... i consider it a long time :) i would guess java fern takes a long time too

Might not take that long. It depends on how they like your water/light/ferts...etc.

Just keep doin what uve done. If they come off, u might just have to take the wood out! :p

well on one of my pieces of bogwood ive put some of the plants into the holes and grooves on it so that will do for now.

thanks for your help :)
That's what I did on my "monster" Java fern, almost 2 years ago now. I just teased the roots into the grain of the bogwood with tweezers. It became well attached in a few weeks.
