Hi all. I have a couple of Java Ferns in a 15gal tank that have started sprouting roots at the tips of the leaves! I'm suprised as this is quite a low light unplanned, untoughed tank. I have java ferns in my cold water tank and they don't seem to be bothered about sprouting :|

So, what do I do with these new shoots? Do I remove them and then tie them to some bog wood or just leave them? They are quite small, one has two small (0.5 - 1cm ish) leaves on it, the others are just developing leaves.

Advice? :)

You can take them off and plant them when they have enough roots and leaves; they eventually detach themselves anyway so you could plant them then. The mothers must like a bit of warmth to have babies :)

I just leave all mine, they eventually fall off then i pick them out.
