Now, that's cool. I had a tiny java fern someone sold me for $4, and it kicked out a couple tiny tiny plantlets as it passed on. I accidently flushed this itty bitty one down the toilet yesterday. I forgot it was there, saw a mess bowl of water, chucked it down the toilet, and then "gah!"
Ah, and it was doing so well, too. It barely a couple mm across.
I hope my remaining rhizome does as well as yours is, I have it under FAR better light (than it was under previously)...
should i plant the java fern with the roots under the gravel or should i tie my java fern on to a driftwood or something. I heard plants with rhizomes should have their roots above the water.
If you like the look, you can leave them. That's what I do, I like the way they form a thick layered look over time. Eventually some will fall off on their own and then I attach them to something.
